Islam, Christianity, and
Morality
Notes and references for
the Ahmed – Slick Debate
All Muslims who accept faith will enter heaven:
Volume 9, Book 93, Number 600:
Narrated Anas:
I heard the Prophet
saying, "On the Day of Resurrection I will intercede and say, "O my
Lord! Admit into Paradise (even) those who have faith equal to a mustard seed
in their hearts." Such people will enter Paradise, and then I will say, 'O
(Allah) admit into Paradise (even) those who have the least amount of faith in
their hearts." Anas then said: As if I were just now looking at the
fingers of Allah's Apostle.
Although, if a Muslim leads a sinful life, he may spend a
TEMPORARY time in hell:
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri
reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Allah
will admit into Paradise those deserving of Paradise, and He will admit whom He
wishes out of His Mercy, and admit those condemned to Hell into the Fire (of
Hell). He would then say: See, he whom you find having as much faith in his
heart as a grain of mustard, bring him out. They will then be brought out
burned and turned to charcoal, and would be cast into the river of life, and
they would sprout aj does a seed in the silt carried away by flood. Have you
not seen that it comes out yellow (fresh) and intertwined?
Good deeds wipe out bad deeds, this is a major incentive for
making yourself a better person:

The point was made which went unrefuted, that the Bible does not
address the problems of today’s society. For example, there is no condemnation
in the Bible for using illegal drugs, gambling, or sexual promiscuity (this
includes everything except sexual intercourse). Therefore, because of this, and
other reasons stated, Christianity is a huge contributing factor to the moral
decadence of our society. But the question remains, does Islam address the
problems of today’s society like drugs, gambling, sexual promiscuity? Yes.
The following is the evidence:
Here is Islam’s condemnation of drugs:
Narrated Abdullah Ibn
Abbas:
The Apostle of Allah
(peace_be_upon_him) said: Every intoxicant is khamr (wine) and every intoxicant
is forbidden. If anyone drinks wine, Allah will not accept prayer from him for
forty days, but if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he repeats
it a fourth time, it is binding on Allah that He will give him tinat al-khabal
to drink.
He was asked: What is
tinat al-khabal, Apostle of Allah? He replied: Discharge of wounds, flowing
from the inhabitants of Hell. If anyone serves it to a minor who does not
distinguish between the lawful and the unlawful, it is binding on Allah that He
will give him to drink the discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of
Hell.
Here is Islam’s condemnation of gambling:
5:90. O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of
alcoholic drinks), gambling, AlAnsâb[], and AlAzlâm
(arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitân's
(Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you
may be successful.
In regards to sexual promisquity, as mentioned above the Bible
does not does not condemn it. Therefore, it must be ‘ok’ to do. For example,
the Bible does not condemn using a computer or driving a car, therefore, the
logical conclusion is that it must be ok to drive a car or use a computer. For
example, in regards to woman’s dress code, all the Bible states is be
"modest". But, it does not state what is modest. Is wearing pants
modest? Is wearing shorts modest? Tank tops? Dress covering the entire body?
Swimsuit? Therefore, modesty is left up to the invidual to decide. That is why
you have many people dressed anywhere from skimpy Madonna type outfits or
bikini type outfits, to huge dresses covering everything. It is a well known
fact, that the dress a woman wears has a direct correlation to the moral
decadence of a society. Even many of the most pious believers will "throw
in the towel" when put in an environment of woman wearing tightly fitted
clothing and showing off many of their parts.
This isssue, although seems trivial on face value, is actually a
major issue which needs to be addressed by any functional religion. Islam on
the other hand address this issue in great detail:

Islam is also fair in the sense, that men can not go around
wearing speedo swimsuits while their woman have to
"cover up", dress code for man has also been specifically defined:

Another point, which is extremely relevant to today’s society is
wear do you draw the line as far as men and woman contact or dating.
Unfortunatly, the Bible allows you to do EVERYTHING except for
the actual act of sexual intercourse! This has been the topic of many comedians
who joke, "Christian girls aint virgins!" due, to the sexual contact
they engage in with men (accept sexual intercourse). Therefore, let me sumerise
the type of culture the Bible promotes: Men and woman walking around in tight
fitted ,skimpy outfits exposing much of their parts, each one engaged in
flirting and indescretely seducing each other (there is no condemnation in the
Bible for this) , and not only that, but engaging in several sexual acts except
for sexual intercourse! And there is no doubt, that, this is exactly what we
see in America. Therefore, there can be no doubt, that Christainity, is a huge
contributing factor for the moral decadence of the society which we live in.
Unfortuneatly, Christianity is not the solution, rather, Christainity is part
of the problem, as it simply fails to address the real time issues of today’s
society.
Unlike the Christianity, Islam addresses appropriate man-woman
interaction:
The ruling on
touching non-mahram women is that it is haraam, during Ramadaan and at other
times, whether that is touching with the hand only or actions that are more
serious than that, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon
him) said: "If one of you were to be stabbed in the head with an iron
needle, that would be better for him than his touching a woman who is not
permissible for him." Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 486;
classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5045.

http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&ds=qa&lv=browse&QR=43104&dgn=4
In conclusion, as we can see, the religion of Islam directly
addresses the problems of today’s society, like drugs, gambling, and sexual promisquity,
yet, the Bible fails to address these key issues. Therefore, it is clear that
Islam is superior to Christianity and is the only religion in the world which
clearly address the moral problems of the world, no other religion has this
amazing characteristic.
