After over two hours of debating back and forth, Sam Shamoun could not provide a single verse which stated that the Bible was 100%, nor could he produce a single verse from the Quran (or hadeeth) which stated the Bible was 100% uncorrupt, and nor could be provide a single verse which stated the Bible was 100% Truth. Rather, he wasted everyone’s times with his personal interpretations on verses of the Quran! Therefore, he lost the debate on this point.
Nevertheless Answering Islam’s bogus arguments could be shot down from multiple angles. ExamineTheTruth.com went one step further and actually provided them with a clear verse from the Quran which stated that the Bible was corrupt Answering Islam was clearly refuted and had no response with the following verse:
(referring to crucifixion) and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) ]: (An-Nisa 4:157)
The point was made that the Christians follow the Bible in which they get the story crucifixion, and the Quran calls it conjecture (corruption). Shamoun was hammered with this verse through out the entire debate, until finally, he had no choice but to admit defeat. At 2 hours and 45 minutes and 20 seconds of the debate, Sam Shamoun offered the following response:
The asumumtion is that the Quran is the word of God… therefore, if the Quran say the crucifiction is a farse, if the crucifixtion is a farse, then the gospels may be incorrect. On the contrary! Since the Quran else where says the gospels are uncorrupt (
which he could not demostrate) that means when the author contradicts the gospels the author is lying! The author is uninformed! The author is a @#$*censored*Confused by his response? You should be. Because when a professionally trained liar is cornered with the evidence, he will not clearly admit defeat – rather he will admit defeat in riddles, so that the average person listening will not be able to detect that he is admitting defeat! Very tricky hey? We will give him credit for that.
But, if you notice, that in Shamoun’s riddle, he admits that the author (of the Quran) contradicts the gospels (in that it accuses the Christians of following corruption) then he says the Quran is wrong! Sam Shamoun now finally admits that the Quran condemns the gospels!
To summarize, when I challenged with Surah 4:157 in which is stated the Quran says that the Christians follow nothing but corruption, Sam Shamoun responds the author of the Quran is lying! But by stating this, Shamoun agreed that the Quran calls the Bible corruption, which Shamoun later defends the Bible by accusing the Quran of lying about the status of the Bible.
Therefore, after over 2 hours Sam Shamoun looses the debate in which he was suppose to prove his claim:
The Quran claims that the Bible is 100% pure and 100% uncorrupt and 100% Truth
This was just one of many arguments which Shamoun failed to answer, but I thought I just might mention this one… because we actually got a confession out of this master riddler.
