I think to get a better idea of why Answering Islam is running from the challenge of debate, is to look at the past 2 encounters in which they attempted to debate Muslims on Islam.

As for the first debate, Answering Islam has come forward and has publicly admitted complete defeat, but as for the second debate, they are dragging their feet (hoping that people wont listen to the debate and just take his word for it). Therefore, I would like to comment a bit on the second debate. Allow me to remind Answering Islam what took place that night in the "What the Quran says about the Bible" debate, in doing so, perhaps they will accept reality.

One of the high lights of the debate in my opinion, is when I confronted Sam Shamoun about him red handed LYING to his followers about the true status of the Bible. I mentioned that Sam stated:

"I don’t believe anyone can corrupt the Bible"

"It is the pure word of God"

And he agreed with with a group of Jews that the Old Testament was 100% the Word of God. But now, prepare for the shock. When Sam Shamoun is confronted with Biblical Scholars or qualified critics of the Bible, this is what Sam Shamoun has to say about "uncorrupt", "pure", "word of God":

"No document of antiquity (referring to the Bible) has come down variant free, without corruption"

Sam continues, but we know where the corruption in the Bible is. So, to his blind congregation, Sam Shamoun champions the Bible as the uncorrupt and pure Word of God, but when knowledgeable people cross examine him, he calmly and plainly admits to them that the Bible is corrupt (but still good). I guess Sam figured that what they (his congregation) don’t know won’t hurt them. I further challenged Sam repeatedly through out the entire debate to respond to this serious charge of fraud, yet he refused to and ducked it, till he briefly stated what he believed about the Bible in the question and answer time, but could not dismiss the serious charge of fraud nor even attempt to challenge my allegation. Therefore, this is pure deception, and a deliberate attempt to mislead unwary people. And it is this type of fraud, which has earned Sam the title:

What is pure deception and a deliberate attempt of misleading unwary people is how NA misquotes me. He even thinks he will get away with it!

First, to put things in perspective NA deceptively quoted only a portion of my response in my debate with Shabir Ally regarding the variant readings of the Bible. He chose to conveniently ignore THE REST OF MY COMMENTS WHERE I SAID THAT THE QURAN HAS ALSO SUFFERED SCRIBAL CORRUPTIONS AND CONTAINED THOUSANDS OF VARIANT READINGS. I stated that by NA’s criteria the Quran needs to be trashed also since it is no good due to all of its variant readings. I also said that Shabir Ally was forced to admit that the Quran contained variant readings when I confronted him with the facts. What was NA’s response to this? "As for Shabir Ally… forget about him, you’re debating me"!!!! And this is the very gent who claims that he has "humiliated" us!

Second, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand what I mean that the Bible is the pure, uncorrupt word of God while also acknowledging scribal corruptions to the text. But since NA doesn’t get it, or doesn’t want to get it, let me break it down.

By claiming that the Bible is the uncorrupt pure word of God, I mean that the original, inspired revelation that God communicated through the authors of the Bible has been preserved intact. The variant readings do not call into question the preservation of the original message of the inspired autographs. There are indeed variant readings amongst the extant MSS, but God’s uncorrupt message is still preserved within the MSS. Nothing has been lost. This is what I have always stated in my writings. Case in point:

One year after being exposed as a liar in the Ahmed-Shamoun debate, shamoun now has offered a alibi in an attempt to have a retrial in his article against the charge of lying. For one whole year, after having thousands of people all over the world read my article as well as download our debate in which these people witnessed Shamoun exposed naked.. and caught red handed in a terrible lie, without any defense. One whole year, thousands of fellow viewers downloaded our debate from my website www.ExamineTheTruth.com, and witnessed me play a audio tape in which Shamoun was caught in a terrible act of deception, as I challenged Shamoun to refute the charge of lying, over … and over…. And over again. But Shamoun was not able to defend himself. Thus Sam Shamoun has become a laughing stock. Behold, wherever Shamoun will travel now, Muslim youths will jeer at him:

" look its Sam ‘the Sham’ Shamoun!!! Hahahaaa "

"Hey Shamu !!!!!!!"

This indeed was the case, which I have witnessed in paltalk.com chatrooms, as Shameless Shamoun would appear in different rooms and tell people who he was, and immediately after that, out came the teasing and the jokes. This also happened in his debate against Osama Abdullah. Shamoun was not able to respond to the teasing. I felt sorry for him, because I knew that I was responsible for his humiliation.

But now after one year, Shamoun has unexpectedly emerged with a "alibi" in an attempt to vindicate himself from the charge of lying and hopefully regain his dignity which was snatched from him that auspicious night of the Ahmed-Shamoun debate.

If a man was on trial for perjury, and in that trial the accusation of LYING was presented before that man, and he was not able to refute the charge, and simply remained silent. Even though, the charge of perjury was bought up SEVERAL TIMES in the court room, each and every time, the man was unable to refute it. Then out of no where, ONE YEAR after the guilty verdict was issued, that man from his prison cell unexpectedly comes up with some alibi to beat the charge of perjury, claiming that he had a different intention in his HEART! The question which I would like to raise, is, there be any court of law, anywhere in the world, who would reverse the guilty verdict and release him from prison? Would any court of law even bother to listen to such foolishness? I think everyone knows the answer, which is "NO". No court of law would grant the defendant a retrial. If this is the case, then why would I or any sensible person even bother to entertain this same kind of foolishness coming from Sam "The Sham" Shamoun?????? Is there any Christian or Muslim who is that stupid????? Please answer me.

The answer is no to all of these questions. For the record, Sam "The Sham" Shamoun was confronted on 4 different occasions to respond to the serious charge of lying. I made sure to corner him so there can be no doubt. On each and every occasion, Shamoun was completely unable to challenge the proof leveled against him. And for the next year, Shamoun had no excuse at all, and was simply powerless when confronted with the clear evidence that he was a liar. Therefore, Sam Shamoun had his day in court, and he was clearly found guilty of deception. There is simply no justification to even consider this new alibi of his which has emerged after one year.

But what I find very interesting about Shamoun’s alibi, is that this is the EXACT SAME ALIBI which Dr. Robert Morey used to defend himself from being exposed as liar!!! For example, we recorded a false statement of Robert Morey in which he claimed the following:

John 3:16 has proven to be so effective, for God so loved the world, You will never read about Allah loving anybody but himself."

Therefore this statement of Morey was completely false, as Allah states in many places in the Quran that he loves others. So, what was Morey’s defense? Morey claimed as I documented in my article that he MEANT to point out the issue of unconditional-conditional love, and that was what he was referring to. But I quickly pointed out that this is a completely fabricated context which he is giving his statement. I listened to the lecture very carefully, Morey NEVER once mentioned this as his context of his statement. Therefore, Morey was exposed again lying. Sam Shamoun foolishly follows Robert Morey’s footsteps, as he offered the following alibi:

So, now Shamoun is claiming this is what he MEANT. Therefore, let me offer the same response which I gave to Robert Morey to Sam Shamoun: I reviewed the tapes very carefully, when you made the claim,

"I don’t believe anyone can corrupt the Bible"

to the group of Orthodox Jews, Shamoun never once stated, " Oh, but I mean ONLY in the originals!", nor were any links offered to them to find out Shamoun’s true position. If Shamoun would have said this, I would never have accused him of deception. Thus Shamoun left these Jews with the understanding that he believed that the OT which is present in their hands is uncorruptable. Therefore, Sam Shamoun CLEARLY mislead these Orthodox Jews, by not stating to them his true belief regarding the status of the Bible, with the INTENT to deceive and LIE.

This was a gross act of stupidity on Shamoun’s part, as he tried to copy Robert Morey’s alibi! What is funny is that Shamoun himself claimed that he could not defend Morey on paltalk.com, then he turns around and uses his indefensible alibi!

This shameless man Sam Shamoun also accused me of the following:

This accusation of Sam Shamoun is another complete lie. His allegations are nothing but a projection of himself. I would like to challenge Shamoun to show where I misquoted him. But as I mentioned above, his argument is that I did not peer into his heart and find out what he MEANT by his statement of the OT being uncorruptable!! Lol J

Shameless Shamoun also stated:

Again, Shamoun’s allegations is nothing more than a projection of himself. What he believes about the Quran is completely irrelevant to his statement which he made to the Jews. It has no bearing at all.

In conclusion, after hearing the debate, I don’t know how any fair minded Christian can trust a man like Sam Shamoun.
