 with
Dr. Ravi Zacharias

I just recently received the following email:

My friend;

I think you need to have a conversation with Dr. Ravi Zacharias and read his writings and lectures.  I'm afraid
that your intellectual positions may change drastically. No, perhaps they wouldn't change but you would be
intellectually and spiritually challenged to the core! Please don't pretend to have all the answers and ways to refute
Christianity.  That speaks so loudly and clearly to the general insecurity felt and preached by Islam towards
the Christian faith.

Response:

let me start of by saying that I am personally a fan of Ravi Zacharias. In fact, just the other day, I was listening to one of his lectures on my mp3 player as I was jogging in the park. But, wow, what a vast departure Ravi Zacharias is from the foul and repugnant “riddlers” of Answering Islam. Foaming at the mouth and hurling slurs, these charlatans *,*,* of Answering Islam were brought to justice by ExamineTheTruth.com via public debates. Many of the debates were more like conducting an exorcism, rather than an intellectual exchange. It was a dirty job, but some had to go in and expose the lies and deceptions of these riddlers, and I guess it had to be me.

However, Ravi Zacharias is nothing like them. He does not insult or disrespect any person’s religion or concoct malicious caricatures of any religious leader. Rather, he conducts himself in a very dignified manor and has a welcoming approach to the study of religion and philosophy; This is why I appreciate him. In addition to that, Ravi brings a very much needed message for our times. He mostly concentrates on exposing the fallacies of atheism’s amoral world view and what effect it would have on a society and the consequences of living a life without God and its moral implications.

But at the same time, Ravi Zacharias carefully “chooses his fights”. What I mean by this is that he stays away from the more difficult topics, such as the following:

“Reliability of the Bible”

“Is Jesus really God?”

“Ancient pagan influences on Christian doctrine”

And last but not least, the Morality debate. Therefore, to address Wayne’s concern, I don’t think Ravi Zacharias will contribute anything new to the issues debated on ExamineTheTruth.com. Rather, I feel that Ravi Zacharias will be a fish out of the water and not make a positive impact if he were to start tackling these issues. Nevertheless, my door is always open if Ravi Zacharias would ever want to debate on something. Just let me know.
